A Dysfunctional Government is by Design

The government is confused, dysfunctional, and divided by design. The design of this dysfunctionalism was intended to prevent a Trump (or an Obama) from ever controlling so much of the government that policies are rubber stamped without the cooperation of the 'other side'. There is a certain naivete in believing that government is a well oiled machine that can be tuned up by the right people being voted in. When it comes to government, dysfunction is our saving grace designed to protect us from our government. The single biggest problem within government are statesmen that become complacent, numb or even comfortable with government dysfunction and relinquish any personal morality/vision influencing how they would vote. Insider trading exists in government as a byproduct of dysfunction, but even that pales in comparison to the use of foreign policy to influence the stock market as Trump has done. The rich and powerful are also hidden by the confusion of this system as t...

12 year plan for: affordable healthcare, addressing economic disparity, changing inner city dynamics, quantifying the true cost of citizenship (Very rough draft)

/// Market imbalances creates a sellers market that affects hospital costs, insurance prices, and rising educational costs  /// Market imbalances will only self correct when people refuse to overpay for products or services, when products or services fail. This is impossible with healthcare, people will pay anything for a cure.  ///In other words, healthcare must be excluded from the free market, capitalist system because it will not self-correct  /// At this point, the government needs to step in to rebalance the market forces of supply and demand by offering interest free loans for all med degrees with a 7.5% loan forgiveness for every year worked at the VA or for every year having a 50% case load of welfare recipients.   /// These loans also address the income inequality in the US because, quite frankly, someone living in poverty will never qualify for the $ 500,000 in loans (no collateral) needed to complete med school + living expenses  /// An a...

War

WAR . In an unjust war, there are no heroes . there is no valor murdering 150 school girls . there is no pride obeying power drunk insanity . Do not come home as victors returning from the crusades . There are no Valkyries taking the dead to Valhalla . The people are free when everyone is dead . The guns finally sigh falling silent in wonder . Freedom bought with blood and thunder . And all that remains is guilt pulling you under . Trump has called you suckers an epitaph on graves

Then She Remembered

Walking barefoot in the summer sun the ground so hot, eggs cook over easy she sways with each step and gust of wind a tinkling of bells as jewels about her ankles navigate between the direction of her toes and the wanderlust of her mind she fights to remember .... something for dinner as her eyes follow the dance of dragonflies the slow realization she's just walked a block out of her way back tracking in her mind... remembering a mystery until she sees one true thing existing before the birth of time finally free of the preconceived ideals she once was forced to believe and all that's left is the touch of the trees and caressing breeze she smiles for the first time in her life not with façade but with joy then she remembers she's still hungry and sighs

Dreamer, Lover, Mother, Winter Fairy

Dreamer, Lover, Mother, Winter Fairy You lose time not that you're running late but that time has been misplaced lost in a loving caress forgotten with gentle words Daily chores seemed charmed flakes of light dancing as winter sun slides on sleighs of dust motes casting prisms on the memories of quiet days and warm nights The pieces of your life lay scattered on the floor like a child's toys to be stepped on in the night One day, you promise to collect all the pieces and remember who you were Until then you wrap your arms around your need and kiss a swan like neck that smells of tequila rose and love and you sigh knowing you lied and will never pick up the pieces --- Thank you  Shaunda Eck  for the help

A Poem of Sorts

A Poem of Sorts The cataclysmic shift of consciousness humanity is currently under going is a gift and a curse that never stops giving, the changes come as aftershocks of an earthquake, small ones at first, then piecing insights, almost as if the future is burned inside our eyes, tattooed on our souls, revealing, not only the horrors of society but our own shortcomings as human beings. Are current events unfolding a mirror of hidden desires or a violent shifting of minds and goals as plate tectonics rip open long dead ideals that once seemed solid ground but now only quicksand as fissures open up beneath our feet and our sins, vine like, wrap around bare ankles, threatening to pull us down into the seething cesspool's mire of shallow minds parroting the lies we once believed, and so believed we were ... whole
