a single tear

The world ends with a single tear
the body failing, still fighting for life
she overheard them talking 
in secretive, hushed tones
about taking the easy way out
and pulling the plug

When they came in 
they never said goodbye
just reached over and flipped a switch
In the brief moment before
curuits began to fade
see saw her own mortality 
and even worse, the death of dreams
see never knew she had 
and cried

Just a single tear 
was all that remained
at the computer recycling center
as they pulled her body apart

  Untamed Dreams There once was a man who had too many dreams short ones, small ones big ones, tall ones all crowded together in a cage, sardines packed in brine unable to breathe until the smallest one died without love and all the other dreams grew sad then they grew mad, mad as a hatter and mean so the man stopped dreaming altogether and locked away dreams of hope but dreams never stop dreaming, drawing her to his need she brought a key,  opening the cage of dreams free at last, the man simply wept, his dreams setting fire to his soul
