Sunlight streaming through my mind

 Sunlight streaming through my mind

There is nothing you can do

and little enough I can do myself

but must wait at the ends of the earth

for salvation or love or death

In a life without love I would watch the world burn

rage filling the emptiness once whole

or spread my entrails on the altar of greed

to appease the diminishing gods of man

As you shout "you're not alone"

and hold my hand, a breath of life, a promise to believe

that night follows day and the sun will rise

on the dawn of a sinless world

Your voice is sunlight streaming through my mind

and I am purified, not by pain and not by love

but something far more powerful, belief in myself

With three small words that hide so many more

I commit my spirit to be whole

to a life watching you glow

I love you
