Just here and nowhere else

Just here and nowhere else

I have no idea how to start this poem
but maybe that's the point
of pointlessness

We are here
just here and nowhere else
and everything's new

Leaving stale hatreds far behind
losing the luggage burdening the soul
and untying the kite strings of empty dreams

A new world, new goals, and a new me
finding inspiration just waking up

Yet it's hard not to crumble under
the weight of past mistakes
and the ghosts of regret haunting sleep

That's why this write begins without a start
as I travel to the ends of the world
hoping to close the circle of life
from start to finish
of the last lines of my poem

Love begins with the morning sun
maybe starting here is a better place to begin
