 she came into your life

to escape her own
wearing beads in her hair
with poetry behind her eyes

she was a priestess
with life her cathedral
all soft curves and hard opinions
health and environment
and how can you eat animals

her knees sunk deep in your mind
above her only sky

she makes love to life
with enough left over for you
you say I love you
she says live for now, live for you
don't let life pass by unnoticed

she ignited a fire inside
and you fear losing the ember
so you hold on with all your might
eventually driving her away
in leaving she says I love you

life is simple now
and something to worship

you pray for the earth
as you think back to those sweet days
now you have your own disciple
she says I love you
and you say
live for now, live for you

The Tyranny of Time - 9/17/24

  hell on earth began with the tick, tick, tock of a clock telling me I'm late for an early grave but truth be told I've been late for everything even kept my mom waiting forever in labor pains that was the first time I didn't let anyone push me around so began a lifetime of refusing to move on command It's not so much the responsibility I mind but the oppression and tyranny of time being ruled by that artificial construct of society once we lived by natural laws using the seasons, moon, and stars to tell us when to plant and sow and harvest how I abhor the minuscule minds forcing us to endure minutes counting down as if the rotation of earth now hung in the balance saving us from annihilation through the tick, tick, tocking of their hearts eventually, the world slows and time pirouettes en dedans a lifetime fighting the clock becomes just simple dance steps finding in the end there are no heroes left no wrongs to right, or wars to fight for time has already won

 And She Hugged Him Tightly She hugged him so tightly  the air between them turned to mist and in the mist rose words unspoken of love and hate, desire and need words of lust and betrayal, happiness and pain no sooner were these worded formed did  the mists dissolve into yearning for a different life a life free to seek her own fate or drown as hope closed about her face gently at first but with ever greater weight as  she took one last breath before exhaling all the sin she carried for others in her soul never knowing if she would wake forever changed  or crippled and bent by the weight of the world one last thought they can never hurt her again
