Animal Farm
Animal Farm why can no one hear the screaming of a soul as we pick at the fraying edges of our minds and the child inside dies of simple need only when love surrounds us can we breathe inhaling deep the toxic smoke from society fits of coughing haunting sleep keeping us up in the dark hours of our life "hold me" our simple plea love enveloping us as gauze covering wounds as spirits ache and throb from self inflicted misery bandages dripping puss from a thousand cuts from the glass we're forced to swallow sold to us like sugar coating on pain killing pills more, we swallow more just to survive gorging ourselves on the entrails of our lies becoming gluttons and growing obese on sin immobile from the weight of our apathy we lay in our own excrement and smile never knowing we've already become the bacon on which others eat with glee
