Then She Remembered
Walking barefoot in the summer sun the ground so hot, eggs cook over easy she sways with each step and gust of wind a tinkling of bells as jewels about her ankles navigate between the direction of her toes and the wanderlust of her mind she fights to remember .... something for dinner as her eyes follow the dance of dragonflies the slow realization she's just walked a block out of her way back tracking in her mind... remembering a mystery until she sees one true thing existing before the birth of time finally free of the preconceived ideals she once was forced to believe and all that's left is the touch of the trees and caressing breeze she smiles for the first time in her life not with façade but with joy then she remembers she's still hungry and sighs
